Point Pleasant Beach has a handful of good restaurants and one that most guests stop mentioning by name — they just call it that place on the water. Park Seafood Clam Bar sits where it’s sat for decades: close enough to the ocean that the salt air finds its way into the dining room, with a menu that doesn’t need much explaining.
The clams are the thing to start with — steamed in white wine, or raw if the day calls for it. The lobster rolls are generous and honest, no architectural fussiness, no slaw you didn’t ask for. The fish comes in from local boats and the kitchen treats it simply, which is exactly the right approach when the ingredient is this good.
Service is efficient rather than formal. This is a working seafood restaurant, not a production. Arrive hungry, eat until you mean it, and leave feeling like the evening was money well spent. In July and August, booking ahead for dinner is wise; the bar seats are available without a reservation and have a good view of the dock. In shoulder season — May, June, September — the terrace is easy to claim and the room is at its most relaxed.
